Robert A. Goodin, one of the firm's founding partners, is a trial lawyer specializing in complex commercial litigation.
Before the founding of Goodin MacBride in 1978, Mr. Goodin was an associate for three years with Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, San Francisco. From 1974-75, he clerked for Judge Charles B. Renfrew, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. He was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1981.
Mr. Goodin plays a prominent role in numerous professional organizations: a regent of the American College of Trial Lawyers, member of the American Law Institute, Board Chairman of Bay Area Legal Aid and member of the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights. A life fellow of the American Bar Foundation, he frequently teaches trial advocacy at various institutions, among them the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He is past president of the Northern California Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
