He has previously served as a graduate law clerk for the Alameda County Office of the County Counsel and an extern to Presiding Justice James M. Humes of the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District. While at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Hastings Law Journal published his note on executive foreign affairs power in 2017. He also worked with Hastings Appellate Project, briefing a successful pro bono appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
