Goodin MacBride Associate Named ‘Rising Star’ for 2015

Regulatory Associate Megan Somogyi has been named a ‘Super Lawyers Rising Star’ for 2015. Ms. Somogyi was chosen for her outstanding practice in Utilities and Appellate Law. Since joining the firm, Megan has represented a variety of clients in litigation before the California Public Utilities Commission, including the City of Chino Hills in a proceeding that successfully obtained an order for Southern California Edison Company to underground several miles of extra-high voltage transmission cables, and a natural gas supplier in PG&E’s Gas Transmission & Storage rate case. Ms. Somogyi also represents clients in front of the California Courts of Appeal and the California Supreme Court. Most notably, the state Supreme Court granted review to the petition of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District, which is the first writ of review granted for an issue arising from a CPUC decision in almost two decades.

‘Super Lawyers’ is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from over 70 areas of practice who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, and is published in all 50 states and Washington D.C. The firm congratulates Ms. Somogyi on the recognition she has received from her peers.

The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations. While up to five percent of the lawyers in a state are named Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are named ‘Rising Stars.’
