Goodin MacBride partner Michael B. Day has been honored as the 2019 Energy Lawyer of the Year in San Francisco by US News & World Report-Best Lawyers in America©. In addition, Mr. Day has been selected as one of ‘The Best Lawyers in America’ in the Energy Law specialty in the Bay Area for 2019, marking the 24th consecutive year he has been so honored. Mr. Day served as Senior Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Acting General Counsel of the California Public Utilities Commission during his 11 year tenure with the agency. Upon leaving the CPUC to enter private practice in 1991, Mr. Day has represented a wide variety of energy and communications clients before the CPUC, and joined the Goodin MacBride firm as a partner in 1998. The US News & World Report-Best Lawyers in America© rankings are determined by collecting nearly 4 million confidential evaluations from the top attorneys in the country.
