Regulatory Partner Megan Somogyi has been named a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” for the sixth consecutive year, and has appeared in the Super Lawyers Top Women Attorneys in Northern California section of San Francisco Magazine every year since 2017. She was chosen for her outstanding practice in Utilities Law. Megan represents local governments and utility clients in administrative compliance and litigation proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission and other regulatory agencies, and advises investment firms and real estate developers on regulatory issues and energy markets. Representative matters include de-energization of power lines by electric utilities, electric utility wildfire mitigation planning, electric transmission line siting proceedings, ratemaking litigation, sale and transfer of electric utility property, and utility certification proceedings. She has also represented clients in appellate litigation before the California Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court.
“Super Lawyers” is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from over 70 areas of practice who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, and is published in all 50 states and Washington D.C. The firm congratulates Megan on the recognition she has received from her peers.
The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations. While up to five percent of the lawyers in a state are named Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named “Rising Stars.”
